DAR Good Citizens Award and Silver Tea: Local high school students are honored each November for dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism to an outstanding degree. The awardees are elected by school faculty and peers.

Nathan Hale Schoolhouse: The schoolhouse, owned by the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) and located on Main Street in East Haddam, is open weekends June through October. Our members volunteer as docents to welcome visitors and school children tours to the schoolhouse. Our Chapter Schoolhouse Docent Chairman, Lorna Mitchell, welcomes your questions and volunteers to sign-up for a noon to 4:00 PM docent session. Contact Lorna at lmitchell7@comcast.net. The Major-General Joseph Spencer Monument is also located on the property and was erected with DAR assistance.

“Wreaths Across America": A sponsorship program to provide wreaths on deceased veterans’ graves during the winter holidays at local cemeteries to honor those who have served; to honor and remember these patriots – past, present, and those who will carry on the tradition of Duty, Honor and Country in the future.
